The Kunsthandwerksmarkt am Hof is located at a place in the centre of Vienna. Actually there is a mix of two Christmas markets there. One half is selling the general mix of food, artwork and toys. Another half is a compilation of craftspeople selling their specialized works.of art.
The Altwiener Christkindlmarkt, a Christmas market next to an old abbey offers the longest crib of Austria. By the way one can combine the visit of this market with a Christmas market just opposite the street which offers products provided by organic farmers.

The Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) at Spittelberg is probably one of the most famous Christmas markets of Vienna. I like this market especially for its location which is in the middle of a quarter with smaller buildings dating back to the Biedermeier period (first half of 19th century)

The Christkindlmarkt is considered the largest Christmas market in Vienna. It is located in front of the city hall. Compared to other markets, it offers a lot of stuff for children. For example, there are workshops where children create beautiful things like birdhouses or colourful candles.
For several weeks this bear standing in the window of a house made me always smile while passing the city railway station Gumpendorfer Strasse in Vienna. By the way it is not the once toy animal that makes me smile in Vienna.
At the railway station Wien Praterstern in Vienna I came across this modern locomotive which was painted like a steam locomotive.
On a rainy summer evening I walked through this lane next to the Michaelerkirche in Vienna. Though it is situated in the centre of Vienna no one else was in the lane. A real place of silence in the middle of the metropolis. Do you know such silent places in your city too?
I am always impressed by such details in the architecture of Vienna. I wonder how these element is called? Is this a gable sculpture?
